ー平和を祈りつつ、この短歌を投稿致しました/ With my wish to keep peace, I posted this tanka. ―

夕映えも宜しきかなと西施には層雲退きし鳥海のぞみ

西施は中国の四大美女の一人です。松尾芭蕉は1689年に現．秋田県にかほ市象潟を訪れた際にいくつか作句しましたが、その一つに

「象潟や雨に西施がねぶの花     (松尾 芭蕉 作)」があります。芭蕉の来訪と俳句を記念して、象潟の道の駅ねむの丘には美しい西施の像が建てられました。

Seishi is one of the four most beautiful women of China.

When Matsuo Basho visited Kisakata, Nikaho City, Akita Prefecture, Japan, he wrote some haikus.  One of them is the following.
As a memory, the statue of Seishi was buit at Kisakata.

＜象潟や雨に西施がねぶの花  　　 芭蕉＞

Kisakata ya  ame ni Seishi ga  nebu no hana

Kisakata―

Seishi sleeping in the rain,

Wet mimosa blossoms.
