盆過ぎて み魂(たま)かなたへ 風しろく 置きのみやげの秋桜（こすもす）そよぎ

spirits left for another world...

cosmos flowers

as parting gifts

whispering in white breeze

コスモスの写真はちょうどお盆過ぎの8月21日に撮りました。
Bon is one of the most important events for Japanese Buddhists August 13-15 in many areas.
Seeing-off Bon is Aug 16-18.
It is said the dead spirits descend to this world during the Bon/ Obon period.
I took pictures of  cosmos-flowers  Aug. 21 after Obon.

Halo of the saint
flowers have fallen
dusk comes earlier…
enthusiasm is fading
berries will be ripe

たぶの木に炎暑鎮まる蚶満寺　揚羽の円舞に芭蕉を思ひ

heat waves calm down

thanks to the tabu tree

at Kanmanji temple --

a swallowtail butterfly’s round dance

reminds me of Basho

※芭蕉は1689年に蚶満寺を訪れました。

Tabu tree is Machlus Thumbergi.

Basho visited Kanmanji Temple in 1689.

wrapped by its foliage
swarm of hidden dreams appear

on the way to sanctuaries

Apair of cherry trees in late summer.

I watch them all the year round while morning-walking.

They are a very good couple.

nothing blazing …

it becomes

lucid and calm at dusk

as it is …
