A friend of mine made me remember this photo of Kawarake Jigoku(Hell) in Yuzawa Geopark, Yuzawa City, Akita, Japan. It's one of my favorite sites.

This tanka is from my first book "TANKA HARAKO", <9 Kawarake Hell 5 Pieces 川原毛地獄に5首>.. The contents of "HARAKO" are not only my tanka works but also some notes about the work. They are the Japanese Buddahist setsuwa story or the Japanese history, which I think is homeland of Japanese culture. Furthermore I think Japanese literature such as tanka and haiku is based on those stories. "TANKA HARAKO" will surely bring you some inspiration.
この短歌は処女歌集「短歌 原狐」の <9 Kawarake Hell 5 Pieces 川原毛地獄に5首>.の中の一首です。本歌集は、私の短歌作品だけでなく、作品にまつわる注釈として、仏教説話や日本の歴史も若干ながら記載しております。私はこうした説話や歴史が、日本文化の地盤であり私たち日本人の心の故郷と思っております。 尚、川原毛地獄は日本三大霊地の一つであり、秋田県湯沢市にあり、＜ゆざわジオパーク＞内の見どころの一つです。 本歌集は英語版になってなっていますが、日英２カ国語で記載されています。 自然写生をもとにして詠った歌を多く収めた歌集「短歌 原狐」を皆様に鑑賞して頂けたら無上の喜びと存じ上げております。
