今日は寒さが戻ってきた。当地、秋田では風が強く日中降雪もした。最高気温7℃、最低気温1℃。最高気温7℃もあるのだから、大丈夫とは思ったが念のため、外の水道の元栓は夜間の凍結防止にと閉めておいた。一昨日までは暖かかったので、家内で越冬させておいた植物を外に出そうか、家の冬囲いも取ろうかと思っていたが、こんなに寒くなったので、どちらもとどめておいたのは正解だったようだ。
此処の桜はまだ硬い蕾で当分咲きそうもないが、先日来咲いているという秋田市や海沿いの由利本荘市、にかほ市の桜は、この寒さで退いてしまったのではないだろうか。

The cold has returned today. Windy and snowy here in Akita. The highest temperature was 7 degrees Celsius, and the lowest was 1 degree Celsius. I thought it would be OK with the high temperature of 7 degrees Celsius, but just in case, I turned off the main water valve outside to prevent freezing at night. It was warm the day before yesterday, so I thought of putting out the plants that I had overwintered in the house and removing the winter fence, but it seemed to be the right decision to keep them since it got so cold.
The cherry blossoms here are still in hard buds and are
unlikely to bloom for a while, but I guess the cherry blossoms in Akita City,
Yurihonjo City and Nikaho City along the coast, which have been blooming since
the other day, have receded due to this cold weather.
