藤袴(フジバカマ)は秋の七草の一つです。 萩、朝顔、女郎花、尾花、女郎花、藤袴、撫子、葛が秋の七草です。
藤袴以外は、よく見て判っていましたが、藤袴については、どこかで見てはいたにちがいないが、それが藤袴だとは分かっていませんでした。
そして、漸く宮沢賢治のイーハトーブ園で認識できたのでした。
尚、藤袴は環境省の準絶滅危惧種に指定されています。 According to Manyoshu , which is the oldest Waka/ Tanka anthology in Japan and whose publishing was estimated after A.D. 759, thorouhwort is one of the seven autumn flowers : bush clover, morning glory, pampas grass,patrinia scabiosaefolia, thoroughwort, pink and arrowroot(kudzu). Except thoroughwort, I have recognized them. Recently, I was eager to see and know thoroughwort. I think I must have seen it somewhere before but I have not recognized it. Finally, I could do thoroughwort at Ihatov Garden of Kenji Miyazawa in Hanamaki City, Iwate, Japan.
Now, thoroughwort is being designated as a near-threatened speciesby Ministry of the Environment.
