春の憂鬱/ Spring Melancholy 20210422

 

哀しみは春の憂ひとなりにけり夜毎の夢の冥き色合ひ

先日、とても考えさせられたことがあった。
ある人に「それが何の意味があるのか」と問い詰められたからだ。事の詳細は書かないが、「意味がなければ、事を起こしてはいけない」と言われたように感じ、考え込んでしまった。
私の答えは決まっていた。
「社会正義のため」
これに対して彼は
「そういうのは、もっと上の人たちがやる問題だ」と言った。私が口にするのは憚るべきだと言わんばかりであった。

一瞬、むっときたが、ここはいつもの我慢、私はぐっと抑えこみ、相手が納得するような答えを言って事をおさめた。

大きくうねり変化してゆく時代の片隅に生きつつも、小さな存在の抗議告発もいつか大きく輪を広げ、泣き寝入りせず諸悪に対抗し、正義が貫かれる社会を願い目指し、私は生きてゆきたい。

「四知（しち）...後漢書」　天知る、神知る、我知る、子（人）知る。

Yesterday, I was very thoughtful.
Someone asked me,
"What is the meaning of that? "
I won't go into the details, but I felt as if I was being told, "If it doesn't make sense, you shouldn't do it.
My answer was obvious.
"For justice."
To this, he replied
"It isn't your matter. That's a matter for those higher up," he said.
He seemed to think I should not dare to say anything about it. 

For a moment, I felt angry, but as usual, I kept my patience and ended the conversation with an answer that would satisfy him.

Though I live in the corner of the swirling and changing times, I hope that my small protests and accusations will someday expand into a larger circle, that I will be able to fight against evil without crying myself to death, and that the world will become where justice is done. 

"The Four know ...　from Houhan Shu" means:  Heaven knows, God knows, I know, and You know.
