すがやかに玉露こぼす若稲穂ゆだる残暑の朝明けほどけ
feeling relieved...
young ears of rice spill fresh,
crystal dews upon
a lingering summer's morn—
as if boiling in the heat
盆送りうすら色づく稲の穂の葉先ころがる露の玉かな
past Bon Festival…
crystal dews rolling down
one by one
tips of the rice ears
turning faint golden colour
延々と奏づる音色みっしりと実りし稲の隙の闇より
endlessly
playing harmony tones
from the darkness
between the rice plants
the dense growing crops

8月13日からのお盆、16日から18日までの送り盆行事が終わり、漸く朝散歩ができるようになりました。
ふと周りの田んぼを見ると、秋風が一帯の田んぼにそよいでいます。そして、頭を垂れてきた稲穂に目を近づけると、露が零れています。
びっしりと隙間がないほど生長した稲と稲の間から虫の音もその中から聴こえてきます。
