Have I lived my
life in pursuit of my dreams?
I often wonder
about that these days.
Well… did I have
any dreams?
If I did, what
kind of dreams did I have?
Since I was
brought up with a strong sense of inferiority by being compared with my
better-performing siblings, I don't think I had any dreams such as
"becoming" or "wanting to become".
I don't think I
had any dreams of "becoming" or "wanting to become", but I remember
that I was a little better at drawing and writing than my classmates, and my
parents gave me dreams.
I remember my
parents giving me dreams like "You're going to be an illustrator" or
"You're going to be a novelist". ......
I didn't really
want to be one, so I just nodded my head and said, "Yes".
I just looked for "Space.
I liked to be absorbed
in that space.
Three pieces of Tanka for Nishimonai Bon Odori>
In August 2021,
the Nishimonai Bon Odori (Nishimonai Bon Dance) was held without spectators due
to the Covid 19 disaster. As a fan of this dance, I felt deeply sorry that I
could not see it. However, I was pleased that the beauteous Nishimonai Bon
Odori was aired to the world via video at the Final Ceremony of the Tokyo
Olympics held this summer.
The Nishimonai Bon
Odori has been danced for about 750 years in Nishimonai, Ugo-machi, Akita, and
is designated as National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan.
This month, I start with three pieces of tanka for Nishimonai Bon Odori. The photographs were taken in the past few years.
